Everyone asks me why I chose to write a story about an executioner. My answer - a series of unusual events, led me to believe the spirit of this woman was with me, urging me to write her story. Make of that what you will. As a lawyer who relied on evidence and hard facts, I understand. My legal career helped me understood the guilt and shame of the criminal mind, while motherhood taught me sacrifice and unconditional love. When I held Lady Betty's cat o' nine tails, something stirred within me... a breath... a feeling I was chosen to write her story and no other.
