BIOGRAPHY

Born in Sydney, Australia, Kim intended to pursue a career in journalism after leaving school. In the meantime, she took a temporary job as a receptionist in a law firm.

Intrigued by the criminal world, and a sense of justice for those wronged, she put herself through law school at night, while working full-time during the day as a secretary and paralegal.

After graduating from Sydney University, she worked as a lawyer in general litigation, crime and compensation including helping victims of crime.

She took a break from law to treasure motherhood. During these years she pursued her love of writing and reading again, swapping police briefs and medico-legal reports for novels. She returned to practice, working in family law, and writing legal content articles. However, her love for writing kept driving her forward, and in late 2019 she left law to focus on writing and a family business.

Kim has twice been a judge for The Secret Door Children's Writing Competition, a not-for-profit organisation which donates all proceeds to purchase books from Australian authors and local bookstores. These books are carefully selected, and distributed to women's shelters, assisting families suffering domestic violence, giving them an outlet to read and be inspired during troublesome times.

When she's not writing, Kim is happy in the great outdoors, calling the 'Hawkesbury River' in Sydney her home. She has a love of music and the arts, photography and travel, but one of her greatest loves has always been animals. She's a WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service) volunteer, currently involved in the community wombat program.
